Its December 24th — Christmas Eve — and I’m sitting at home watching my son River destroy the house. I’m also reflecting on 2009 for VOTA and all the things the Lord has brought us through, used us in, and shown us. In 2009 we toured with our friends Newsboys (who had a few changes of their own), December Radio, Bread of Stone, Barlow Girl, and Superchik. We said goodbye to long-time member and drummer Scott Rutz as he moved on to an advertising career, as well as guitarist Riley Friesen and sound engineer Andrew Stoner. We said hello to our two newest members Jeff Goff on drums and Cody Bender on guitar and keys. We said goodbye to Casting Pearls and hello to VOTA, put out our first record under that name with INO Records in February, released some singles to radio (H2B, I’ll Go, Honestly), made a music video for Hard 2 Believe that is up for a Dove Award, built a new web site, put a new engine in our bus, and saw the country from coast-to-coast TWICE! Phew. Without a doubt the most important thing we saw the Lord do with our little band is help raise over $200,000 to a people in need in Kenya through our partnership with Food For The Hungry (www.VOTAband.com/kenya). That, to me, sticks out the most. I feel like the contributions that YOU made in buying our record and sponsoring Kenyan children is going to be the most eternally significant of all the accolades and accomplishments of 2009. So, thank you!

We look forward to seeing you in the Spring of 2010 as we tour again with Barlow Girl and new bus-mates Stellar Kart.

    Cheers!

You guys were awesome at the Last Blast of Summer in Tipton, PA. I just thought you should know that the young man you had on stage last night (towards the end of the show)was hit by a car about a year ago– he was in a coma for several long months, and stayed a rehab facility for months longer. It is truly an example of Christ’s miraculous power that he was up on your stage dancing and “hamming it up”

Hello! I’m such a huge fan of yours! Let me explain myself! I went to the Newsboys concert on May 2,2009 in IL and VOTA was the opening act. (I had gone to the concert with a close friend and both of our moms. She-similarly to me-is obsessed with you guys!! We shared our cds! :D ) I cannot explain how enthralled I became of you guys! I had heard you for the first time at that concert and after the show I went to buy your newest cd, to get my free digital one and to meet you guys!! I got signatures and pictures and everything. Well, I’m set to go to one of your concerts that are in IL! I’m not sure the exact date, anyways, just wanted to say thanks for everything! You guys rock & changed my life!
You all are blessings to me!
Thanks again, I’ll see you in a month or so!
      Love: Samantha

PS: you might want to check your email sign-up. I am unable to sign
      up for it!
P.S.S: I tell all my Christian and non-Christian friends about you guys! I’m trying to spread the word! Email me anytime! :)
