Anyway I thought I’d post a quite colorful photo from last week. My wedding is this Saturday and my brethren and several others that will remain nameless picked me up in the nice big fatty Escalade limo to head out on a quite adventurous and memorable night in Omaha, NE. Only good clean fun and a healthy dose of general mischief were the only prerequisites for the night. Let’s just say we failed in one subject and got an A+ in the other. You can decide for yourself. =)

One of our many imitation VOTA competitors. Don’t be fooled, this is not the real thing. Bry’s hair is marginally cooler than this guys ginormous Zeus beard. Sweet suspenders though, would be a good addition to our stage attire.
It’s all good, the bus company is being really cool and is going to get everything fixed and take care of it.

When in doubt, check your trailer connections. Seriously dude.
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone out there for making our iTunes Discovery Download such a huge success. We had 184,127 people download our single “Hard To Believe” for free from iTunes. This was really exciting new for us as a band because we live and thrive off knowing new people are finding our music. We love to be a part of your guys’ lives and culture everyday. It’s a privilege.
We’ve been hanging in Nashville the last couple days on break from tour. We’ve been running all around Nashville running errands and picking up stuff for our new sounds system. Right now we are on the bus headed to Manheim, PA for our next show with Newsboys on their “Join The Tribe” Tour. The shows have been awesome with crowds of 1,500‑4000. It makes it a lot of fun and really exciting to play for that many people.
Thanks again!
just wanted to say that i got the free download loved it and just picked up the cd the other day its so awesome come play a show in western washington soon!
I sit here on the couch after having got back from our last tour run at 6am this morning. This last trip wasn’t a long one, but it sure took it out of me. Bryan got a cold a week ago, and he has most generously passed it on to me, Brandon and who knows who else. In addition to that, a couple of the guys from Staggerford and myself got the flu from someone or something at our show in Le Mars, IA last week. Unfortunate, but well worth a fun show that night in Iowa.
In addition to the illness we had a couple mishaps on this last trip. Driving through Iowa we hid a asteroid-sized pothole that rocked the bus so hard that our TV in the front lounge went black and never came back. So Case and I tore the TV out and put in Andrew’s bunk for safe-keeping. =) The most uncomfortably though, it’s been soooooo cold here in Nebraska that our toilet tank (the tank that stores the pee pee on the bus) froze up in one big solid 50 gallon block of pee pee. So we took a step back to the days of riding in the diesel van and made pitstops every now and then to make sure nobody wet their bunk. Yes, this is an exciting life we live that never seizes to humble us in the most peculiar of ways.
Anyway, I thought some of you aspiring musicians out there should know, a record deal and a tour bus doesn’t mean a free ride to Hollywood like American Idol makes it look. The life on the road is not without it’s surprises and inconveniences. You still deal with the same dumb stuff and a whole lot more. It’s all in how you deal with it and shrug it off. You just have to learn how to embrace the unexpected and know that this crazy life still goes on. Much love!
Here’s a little snippet of what’s to come in our new music video.

Just wanted to let ya’ll know VOTA debuted on the Christian CHR charts this week at 28 with “Hard to Believe.” Check it out:

It was really awesome to see you guys play at St. Mark’s in Lincoln, NE. I heard you on the radio about a year or so ago playing You Alone, and have really wanted to see the band play. You guys blew me away — it was literally the best concert I’ve ever been too. Your message, humility, and music are awesome! I wish you all the best with your new adventures and am excited to see VOTA when you come back here

Scott, thank you so much for posting this entry! I’m very glad to’ve heard an “official word” finally, too
I was very sad to hear about you guys leaving the band. I had the pleasure and privilege of seeing VOTA in concert for the first time this February (I’ve been a listener since the Casting Pearls days, around the time Bryan was playing with the Newsboys), and it was absolutely amazing; although, I regret the fact that I didn’t take time to make conversation with you guys, as I just quickly went through and got autographs. I wish you both nothing but the best in your careers and lives, and am thankful to God for the time he’s given you both in VOTA, and think it’s awesome to know he’s leading you both greatly! God bless!
