In other news, today is day 1 of the VOTA tour with newsboys. We’re in Frederick, Maryland, and I believe I’m at the very spot where one of the great founding fathers, George Washington, sailed across the Potomac River to fight the bloody battle of New Orleans (or so history tells us). In fact, I believe the coffee shop from which I sip my frothy cup of red-hot liquid caffeine is THE SPOT from which Paul Revere rode on to Gettysburg yelling at the top of his patriotic lungs “The British are coming! The British are coming!” That could be rumor, but it seems plausible.
So after meeting the tour and the other bands (Bread of Stone, newsboys, DecembeRadio) in Nashville, TN last night, we loaded our energetic souls into the buses and trekked up here to the lovely northeast for our first show at the old and beautiful and incredibly historic Weinberg Center For The Performing Arts. In fact, we’ve been pleased to discover that they’re even hosting the John Denver Tribute Band later this Spring. Its an honor indeed.
